The Age of 50's Women and How It Affects Us Today

Women played their stereotype back in the  50's. They dressed as feminine as possible.  Their style was clean and simple . Most women wore soft pastel colors . Some big fashions in 1950 were polka dot skirts.. A lot of people today wear  those types of skirts for costumes.  Most women in 50's blended in the background , and men were more in the foreground .Have you ever heard the  expression '' We're not in the  50's.'' This quote is just saying that women can get  jobs, and don't have be at home all the time .  As you know in the 50's , women were expected to  stay at home ,and take care of the household. While ,men were the main bread-winner. Now in our time ,   it sometimes reserved . Men stay at home with kids , while women  work . I think being a stay-at-home mom is great option but working is a great one too . While being a stay-at-home mom is great because you don't have to worry about the stress of work , and just focus  on your home- life , the con is that  you lose that sense of working independence . While being a working mom, it's great because you have a passion in life other than your kids and a drive to do it , you spend less time with your kids. I'm proud to say a lot  has changed since the 50's . Our age has been called The Age  of The Women. Women are getting better jobs , there single , there happy, and  most of all their independent. There has been so many  great women that I have the pleasure of even hearing about .  Michelle Obama , Madonna , Oprah , Hilary Clinton are just a few of the many examples of great women we have today . even through , a lot has changed, there is  still sexism issues . Women are being treated unfairly , their not getting the jobs they are qualified for  , and most of all  they are being paid less then men  .     One famous example is when Hilary Clinton  running  for president . Some people didn't vote for  her because  she was women , not because they didn't believe what she was saying and promising wasn't going to happen . This is a clear example of sexism . I feel like some of us are still stuck a little bit into that 50's aspect.
